With a past well versed in film, Osprey HD has converted its facility and format preference to HD. As a cost effective solution to premium production, true high definition 24p video has surpassed shooting on film as the preferred format. We are combining the highest quality images possible with substantial savings in film stock, crew, and transfer costs. In addition, you'll have a full color HD image with sync sound on location for playback. There's no more guessing about what the image will look like, and "checking the gate" is a thing of the past. Osprey's HD cinema cameras emulate many different film stocks and deliver unsurpassed quality...in other words, you'll think it was shot on film, it just won't cost as much.
Keeping our pledge to provide clients with the most advanced production technology possible, OspreyHD has just added the RED 4K Digital Cinema Camera, recording at four times the resolution and image-quality of 1080p high-definition video. Matched with a 35mm PL lens mount, it allows us to take advantage of the world's finest optics and produces an image far superior to 1080 HD. In addition, you get the same breathtaking Depth of Field and selective focus as found when shooting 35mm film. RED will be used primarily for high end commercial campaigns and digital cinematography with the need for exceptional imaging. Simply put, RED is extraordinary.
Osprey HD is also equipped with Panasonic's pioneering HD cinema HDX900 camera which has become the standard in broadcast high definition production. The HDX900 cameras are full 2/3" DVCPRO HD, and record 100Mbps HD images in any of 11 video formats, encompassing 60Hz (NTSC) and 50Hz (PAL) production which can produce content for virtually anywhere in the world. With 1080i, 720p, 24p and 25p capabilities, the AJ-HDX900 is perfect for long-form HD programming and corporate campaigns.
We have also added Panasonics HVX-200A to the mix. The AGHVX200A offers all the invaluable features of the popular AG-HVX200 and adds a higher-resolution 3-CCD imager and improved image performance. Because the HVX200A scans at native 1080P for the initial picture processing, users get the highest level of vertical resolution, whether shooting in HD or SD. The HVX-200A records in P2HD solid-state acquisition as well as a mini DV tape mechanism for shooting in SD. P2 cards as well as the FS-100 (100gig) firestore drive are available with the HVX-200A.
Osprey HD owns rather than rents all of our equipment. This allows us better control of a project in terms of scheduling and delays as well as comfort and condition of the gear. More importantly, this level of control allows us to be more competitive and efficient.
